About Me

I've spent many years working as a gardener in north London, combining hands-on experience with a genuine passion for sustainable and wildlife-friendly growing. I've studied wildlife gardening, permaculture and circular economy principles at London South Bank University, and regularly give talks on regenerative growing topics including composting, no-dig techniques, sustainability and seed collecting. I'm currently undertaking specialist training in UKHab Habitat Classification and QGIS habitat mapping — the tools that underpin the government's mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain framework — enabling me to conduct verified habitat surveys for community green spaces and urban sites across north London.

Recent project work includes helping to establish a wildflower meadow for CREOS — Crouch End Open Space — a Grade 1 rated conservation charity and vital green corridor for north London wildlife. It's exactly the kind of ecologically meaningful project that sits at the heart of what Urban Meadow is about. I've had an allotment for nearly a decade, growing vegetables and cut flowers, and serve on the committee of one of north London's largest allotment sites — so I understand the full cycle of growing, from soil health to harvest.

Garden and Wild Meadow Design

There's a common misconception that wild gardens mean neglected ones. In reality, a well-designed meadow or naturalistic garden can be just as structured and intentional as a traditional lawn — just far better for wildlife, soil health, and the environment.

I offer a full range of services from traditional lawn care and repair through to wild meadow seeding and ongoing management.

Maintenance

I have decades of experience in traditional gardening, from pruning at the right time to improving long term soil health.

Good maintenance means understanding a garden's rhythm — knowing when to cut back and when to leave alone. I offer regular seasonal visits covering weeding, pruning, hedge trimming, lawn care and bed management, tailored to what your garden actually needs.

Soil health sits at the centre of it all. Alongside routine upkeep, I focus on building long-term soil structure through composting and mulching — helping your garden become more resilient, and lower-maintenance, over time.
